Hi, today is February 1st and this is my second blog:) I have finally decided on a specific recipe that I will share with you all. For this project, I am proud to introduce my dish, Tteokbbokki. Tteokbbokki is one of my favorite dishes; it is loved by many people in Korea as well. I chose this dish on purpose because I wanted to make it better with my custom variations to make it taste even better. There are currently a lot of types of Tteokbboki already existed such as Palace Tteokbboki, Soy SauceTteokbboki, Jajang Tteokbboki, Stew Tteokbboki, and Oil Tteokbboki. Since there are already so many different types, I doubted my skills and worried about what would happen if it doesn’t end up very well. It’s perhaps because of this that I pondered for a long time of how to make my Tteokbboki creative yet original. At first, I was thinking to splash in a little bit of either Mexican sauces such as salsa or replicate the taste of quesadilla. However, I don’t like the taste of Mexican food very much so I wouldn’t be able to criticize my Tteobbokki and so I gave up. So I thought to myself, “There are things like Jajang Tteokbboki, but why aren’t there any recipes similar to Jjamppong Tteokbboki?” Upon this thought, I decided to go with roasted Jjamppong Tteokbboki. Fortunately, the process of making roasted Jjamppong and roasted Jjamppong Tteokbboki are not that different. Therefore, I think I could make roasted Jjambbon Tteokbboki without any failure. After when I’m done with making Jjambbong Tteokbboki, I would like to give my friends to taste.
